If I were dead, could I do this?
  • That was purely deadpan, right, Serenity?

What do I believe in?  Interesting question.  I believe in the magnificence of humanity.  We just haven't figured it out yet.

So, being inexperienced in bath bubbles, I think you are confirming that they all turn white?  What's a bath bomb?  So, do you read a book while having a relaxing bath?

I was lucky to find DFS.  The saying at one of the local stores is, "I should have bought it when I saw it at Marden's".  I can attest to the truth of that statement.
  • Yes bath is a word.

In actual fact there is baths in the bath you sit in to have a good old soak and Bath which is a town in England. Let's not confuse the two.

I was not in Bath having a Bath.

    Wordplay is fun.
  • Ooh a bath bomb is like compressed powder rolled I to a ball. You drop the ball or bath bomb in to the bath water and it starts to fizz and disintegrate slowly.

    It's visually stunning! 8->
  • Ouuu, you just keyed me.  I was just looking at some interesting word play.  I'll put up a thread here one of these days just for the occasion.

You're not a scientist, are you, Serenity?

So, the idea is to drop the bomb while in the bath so you get all fizzy?  Sounds like fun!
  • The ancient Romans would write down their wishes and curses and toss them into the waters of Bath. The Goddess Minerva (Athena to the Greeks) would supposedly grant them. So be careful when drinking the Bath water..it might be full of magic.

  • At the time, it was called Aquae Sulis. Sulis was a Celtic goddess whom the Romans associated with Minerva. Worst thing is that the curses were written in pieces of lead. I'd worry more about that than the magic.

  • Lead and curses.  That makes sense.
  • (Goes to the bath, fills it with water, starts slurping big mouthfuls whilst praying for a money tree to grow in back garden)

Whickwithy- have a Google around for the Lush website. It's a UK based shop that sells all sorts of wonderful smelly items for personal use, haircare, skincare, etc.

I can not just get into a bath full of water- that's SO last season daaaaahling!!
  • Will do.

Hahahaha.  Ummm, I think you meant fragrant items, right?

  • Yes fragrant items of course. Ones that smell nice.
  • One of my favorites: Sandalwood.  Dreamy.

Errr, I won't mention the other....
  • Lead ( from water pipes) leaching into the water supplies was one of the major reasons for the downfall of the Roman Empire.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
