  • I could only listen for a couple minutes. Kinda noisy for me; though, I'll likely give it another chance later. If you want the ultimate in 70s art-rock bands, check this out (all the album's songs are on youtube):

If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Hooray for Iuventus!!!!!!  That's it!  Gypsy!  Thanks, guy!!!!

And, great job!  I mean I found tons of copies of the image but they all referred to the artist, not to the band.  I have no idea how you did it but BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Gosh, I've even found it on youtue now!  Woohooo!  It's as good as I remembered.  Hahaha!  Considering all I remembered was the image, I was afraid the music really sucked.

I'm sure alot of my enjoyment is based on my history and being drilled into my mind in my younger years but, I felt the least I could do is give a link in case anyone is interested.

    Full album:

  • Ah!  I see you already found the youtube link, UT.  Thanks!  That's an interesting search you did.  I have no idea what you or Iuv did or how you did it.
  • As far a a lifetime's music goes, it seems about every five minutes I think of something new.  I think I'm gong to wait for your list as I'm sure you will have some on your list that I haven't thought of yet.
  • Okay, now we have a place for lost memories and some very helpful folks with near magical powers to help.

    As UT suggested, next...
  • And, one last comment,  You see? This just emphasizes the advantage of this digital age.  I never, ever would have lost that album in today's world.  I have back-ups six ways from Sunday of all of my digital music.  And, instead of filling up mutliple crates (though I think I'll always miss the sleeves and cool little extras that one got in the vinyl age), I fill up a thumb drive.

It started with identifying what the image was. Once we had that, it was just narrowing down the right search terms.E It did strike me as funny that Iuventus was on one side of the Atlantic, and me on the other sitting in the garden doing the same thing. Google is so powerful.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • I tried that, though!  I searched the image, once I tracked it down.  The only saving grace I had for finding the image was that coffee can I mentioned.  But, then....nothing.  I found Mocha or whatever his name is but couldn't get any further than that.  I tried searching the image with "youtube", "band", "music" with no joy.  So, how did you search?

By the way, the link i provided, the best tunes are on side 2.  From "Right decision" on.  Love it.  So very glad y'all could do your magic.
  • Once we had Mucha Zodiac la plume, I coupled this with album artwork and eventually, up popped a site with 'the image was used as the cover design by the 70's band Gypsy. From there to the Wiki page I linked.
What was you searching for Iuventus?

  • So, you used the words "Mucha Zodiac la plume" rather than the actual image?  Nice to know.  I hadn't thought of that.
  • I'd let this slide as as mis-type but I've found such interesting differences in the way we use words.  Sartori was the first to point out that a "group" in England is plural.  Such as (I think this is correct), the band Gypsy were very good.  Whereas, in America, we would say that the band Gypsy was very good (or not ;) ).

So, was "What was you searching for Iuventus?" a mistype or is that just the way you say it in England?  In the U.S., it would be "what were you searching for?".  Sorry if this seems anal, but I do have this insatiable curiosity.  And, analysis ought be be my middle name.
  • Probably just me lapsing into a slang speak. Now you have pointed it out, I would say 'were' was the correct term to use, not 'was'.
Lapsing into slang has been getting me into trouble since junior school. Life was in black & white then though!

  • Hahaha!  That's funny.  After I sent the note I started thinking that I was more in agreement with the English usage than the U.S., since "What" is the subject(?) being...errr...verbed, which would be singular.  Not that I ever would have used it but it does seem to make sense....except for the fact that it's not!  Funny.  Oh, well, I was more than ready to concede defeat on that one.  But, the group thing is really interesting because it's one group but it's a bunch of people, so who knows what is right!?!?!
  • Using the third-person plural for collective nouns is likely an example of hyper correction, in which a slight misunderstanding of a grammatical condition, and a desire to be correct, causes people to mistakenly and repeatedly correct a point of grammar until it becomes somewhat commonplace. However, I'm not familiar enough with Germanic grammars to know whether or not there's an historical basis for the phemomenon. It also seems to make sense when the name of a band takes plural form: the Beatles; Cocteau Twins; Peter, Paul, and Mary.

*A common case of hyper correction that we see here in the US is 'between you and I.' I call this Soap-opera Grammar.
