'White Soft Rope' lyrics.....
It seems a lot of written lyrics found on-line these days are done by software, not humans. Sub titles on TV certainly are, some of the complete gobbledegook they come out with.I suspect this is the origin of 'And every-time I think of you, I …

I know what he means about handling the vinyl, the smell and the ritual of placing it on the platter and dropping the needle. it's almost a religious ceremony !CD's - Push button, tray slides out, flop CD in, tray closes, music comes out.

Some beautiful vocal runs from Alison in that latter one, and Hazel really could do with a shave !

Here's a couple of examples from Supernature, another synth heavy album, Just Let It Take You and You Never Know. These songs are lifted by the addition of strings at points in the song, even if they are synth generated in YNK. When Davidee w…

I've seen the band on every tour except Felt Mountain, as it was BGF, and this is the first tour with no violinist on stage. Even Supernature tour had a violinist; Davidee, despite its heavy synth basis. Strings are one of Goldfrapp's USP…

Anyone else finding that after 7 or 8 listens they still can't fully get a read on Silver Eye? Yes, agree with you Low. I like it. I want to like it more but I feel something is missing to put it up amongst my favourites. I think my favourite …

Amen to that last line Pete. Apparantly, vinyl has allowed many artists to start getting some cash in from sales rather than the pittance derived from streaming services. I here that streaming is having a far greater effect in depressing CD sales th…

Looking like that, Alison should get Will to come out on stage during a song and do a Ron Mael style dance.

Introduce Goldfrapp to your friends/family in only 20 Songs. What would you pick and why?
Well, some time ago I did post that, in my humble opinion, Goldfrapp's music is always best when it is darker and embraces a slightly more sinister feel. One place this is particularly evident is on their cover of Winter Wonderland where they s…

Nobody said they hated 7th TreeJust Happiness and possibly Caravan Girl. A bit too up beat and jolly for Goldfrapp. Not dark enough! Some People is a fantastic song though, as is Little Bird.

Ed the Ginger Jam Rag can go and fuck himself. So can JK (obviously run short of cash) as far as I'm concerned. As for Take That, how long can you squeeze that rock and get blood out? Rag n Bone Man....OK.
